On 23 October, the Flipside community flipped the switch on generosity. Our friends, families, and supporters raised $26,030 - with matched seed funding of $10,000 - in one day! Our giving day was part of the first AusArt Day - a nationwide fundraising program for arts organisations.
The amazing support from our community will help deliver our 2026 program - Homegrown, Future Bound. The program includes:
Regional and remote touring programs - in 2026 we'll be travelling to communities from the Gulf all the way to the NSW border;
Social and community circus programs including all abilities programs;
Support for Queensland's professional circus artists - with artists-in-residence, open training, and career pathways programs;
Training programs including our circus school and new in-school engagements;
Waterways - engaging young First Nations people in circus programs;
New performances, creative developments, and tours by, for, and with children and young people.
Later this month our ambitious new collaboration with The Good Room, Maybe It's Only Us opens. We have an amazing team of young artists and collaborating professional artists working together on this show turning the entire Brisbane Circus Centre into a performance space.

Last week, our community came together for AusArt Day and smashed our $20,000 fundraising goal. Together, we raised $26,030 to strengthen the programs that help young people learn, grow, and soar.
From early-morning donations to heartfelt messages from families, alumni, and friends, the day was a true celebration of what makes Flipside special — a community powered by creativity, courage, and connection.

5 Day Performance Camp (Ages 8-17)
Create a circus show over five intensive days with Flipside's trainers. Family and friends are invited to come and see the show on Friday. By application only, experience required.

The Waterways program has so many ways to get involved with an open day on Sunday 16 November and a 4-day camp in December. These events are free for First Nations people!
Join us for a one-day circus adventure at Flipside Circus! Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just curious to try something new, Sunday Fun Day is your chance to explore circus skills, connect with community, and unleash your creativity.
Dive into the vibrant world of circus arts with Flipside Circus, Queensland’s largest youth arts organisation! This four-day intensive training program, led by Gudjala Kabulba woman Lara Croydon offers a unique opportunity for First Nations people to be immersed in the world of circus.
Flipside Circus acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands upon which we work, train, and perform. We acknowledge the continued occupation of the Yagarabul and Turealbul peoples, and their interaction with the land for over 60,000 years. We also pay our respects to the Traditional Elders and all elders past and present, for their contribution to what we enjoy today.
