Welcome back to Flipside for Term 1! We’re excited to kick off 2026 with a refreshed Training Program designed to make it easier for students to progress, specialise, and find their right fit as they grow.
We’re strengthening our class streams so students who come for joy, fitness, community, or skill-building can see a clear route to excel—whatever their goals.

We’ve got an exciting update to share about Flipside trainer, artist and student, Luke Whitefield. Luke has been offered a place in Cirque du Soleil’s Performance Preparation Program (PPP) program at Cirque HQ in Montreal, training teeterboard for the next 9–10 weeks.
PPP is fully supported — Luke will be based in Cirque accommodation near head office and will be training teeterboard, trampoline, strength & conditioning, plus performance skills like movement/dance and makeup.
Luke started at Flipside when he was little and has grown up to become an incredible trainer, performer and member of the community.
We’re so proud (and slightly jealous of his new winter wardrobe). Huge credit to every trainer, mentor, and community member who’s helped shape Luke into the artist he is today. Let’s send him off with all the love.
Use your Play On! Sports Vouchers with us!
We’re a registered Play On! Sports Vouchers activity provider. Which means you can use your $200 voucher with us to help cover registration fees and get your child involved in the activities they love.
The Queensland Government’s Play On! Sports Vouchers program is designed to ease cost-of-living pressures and help more children get active. The next round of vouchers opens on January 29.

This year, Backbone Festival is welcoming participants as a HUB Resident OR as a Festival Artist!
Backbone's HUB Residency Program is designed to support Young Artists in their transition to becoming independent, self-producing contemporary artists and creative entrepreneurs. They can expect 100 hrs of free rehearsal space at Seven Hills, production support and industry masterclasses, WIP opportunities, and an outcome at Backbone Festival 2026!
Festival artists can expect discounted rehearsal space at Seven Hills, publicity support, access to technical equipment, in-kind access to performance space, and a presentation slot in Backbone Festival 2026
